Carbon Monoxide Detector for room (space) detection without a relay. LCS display, test switch and status LED

Description

The CMD5B4&5 Series carbon monoxide detector uses an electrochemical sensor to monitor the carbon monoxide level and outputs a field-selectable 4-20mA or valtage signal. The voltage signal may be set to 0-5 or 0-10 Vdc. The sensing range and output may be scaled to either 100, 150, 300, 400 or 500 ppm via the on-board menu. A front panel LCD is standard to ensure easy setup and operation. It is available in either wall/surface or duct mount configurations. Other standard features include a back light for the LCD, a front panel test switch, status indication and an alarm buzzer. The test function may also be controlled remotely with a digital input signal. The on-board menu allows local configuration of all device parameters. Option features include one or two alarm relays and/or RS-485 network communication configured for wither ModBus or BACnet protocol.

We have over a hundred CO sensors in a large garage for a mall. I installed these in place of an older Greystone unit. I like the backlit display, the parameters are easy to setup, and installation could be easier if they manufactured them with holes to line up on the back of the case with a standard electrical box or mud ring. I placed a mud ring on the back for template and predrilled mounting holes, drilled a hole to run my wires through the back, and then mounted it (problem solved for mounting unit).
The public seems to like the fact they can read the present time CO value on the display. Though not easy to mount on a standard 4×4 junction box w/mud ring, I will purchase these again.
